Zoya Leybin’s weeklong residency at Eastman was a great success. Students from multiple departments had the chance to work with Zoya in many different settings. The Eastman students were so thrilled to have a chance to work with Zoya in violin lessons, orchestral rep class, studio class, mock audition class (where she worked with students playing trumpet, cello, flute and oboe), conducting lab orchestra, advising students with career advice at Eastman’s Institute for Music Leadership (IML), coaching a full orchestra rehearsal of Shostakovich 11 and, last but certainly not least, a violin masterclass. The students are still buzzing from the impact of this week of learning. |
