Worship/Creative Arts Director
Central Goal for this Position: To leverage and use all of the talent that has been entrusted to Fellowship Wesleyan Church to tell the Gospel story in passionate, fun, and truthful ways for the betterment of our weekend worship experiences and other events.
Start Date: Flexible, but preferrably summer 2025
Position Summary: First and foremost, we need an enthusiastic leader who puts volunteers in place to succeed at using their gifts. There will be expectations to properly oversee all aspects of creativity in services including worship, lightning, streaming production, set design, drama, and visual spaces. While there is no expectation to be a master of all of these things, there is an expectation of continual learning, empowering volunteers to learn and act, and a commitment to improve our presentation each and every day.
Theology: Must be willing to serve under the standards of the Wesleyan Church ( https://www.wesleyan.org/about/our-beliefs )
Regular Duties: Oversee two services on Sunday, 9 AM and 10:30 AM that are both contemporary in nature and aim to appeal to a wide range of worshippers.
Worship Leading Duties
Recruit, develop, empower, and take spiritual care of musicians. This includes being able to find a full team of volunteers to run weekend worship services.
Recruit, develop, empower and take spiritual care of the visual arts team. This includes being able to find full teams for sounds, visuals, and streaming.
Work with our communication director and first impressions coordinator to design our spaces that are done simply, modern, and with the end goal of excellence.
Plan on the budget with the finance team and work within the budget allowed for worship.
Lead regular meetings with those involved in worship.
Participate in bimonthly worship planning team meetings for the planning and implementation of services.
Participate in bimonthly staff meetings and be fully bought into the mission, vision, and covenant that we participate in at Fellowship Wesleyan Church.
Willing to work with local mentors in worship arts.
Education: Preferably 4 year program or equivalent with training in music, leadership, and theology.
Experience: Participated in a worship arts program that has a full band and proficient visual arts team.
