Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in an undergraduate music degree program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Several years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Two years of professional music instruction experience preferred.
- Collaborates with the Music Coordinator in designing curriculum for all classes pertaining to Music and Movement.
- Connect with each participant and/or family members to create individualized goals for music lessons.
- Coordinate and schedule individual music lessons with participants and/or family members.
- Communications with support staff via email, text, and/or in person as needed.
- Provides direct support in the role as Facilitator of music-based group classes as well as 1:1 music lessons.
- Responsible for the supervision and safety of program
- Meet with Music Coordinator monthly or as needed for supervision oversight.
- Responsible for individual goals, objectives, safety zones, and “quick looks” of participants.
- Assist with facilitating social interactions between participants in the program.
- Completes progress notes / metrics and other necessary documentation by the end of shift.
