The ideal candidate will have:
- A passion for Hochstein’s mission and the drive to develop a vision for the future of the CMC program with other Hochstein faculty and staff
- A minimum of Undergraduate degree in Music; Masters preferred
- At least 2 years professional experience as a chamber coach
- At least 1 year working in an administrative capacity
- Well-respected in the community as a musician/educator
- Knowledge of the landscape of local public school music educators and private teachers is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, high degree of precision and accuracy
- Helpful, enthusiastic attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent, professional communication skills, oral and written
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and carry out duties effectively and accurately with minimal supervision
- Handles all placement of students, assigning coaches, and space assignments in coordination with ensemble area coordinators, instrument specialists, and Assistant Director/Dean.
- Handles all inquiries regarding the CMC program and acts as the main Hochstein communications liaison among potential students, parents, andcoaches.
- Orients coaches on CMC policies and advises and supports as needed if/when substitute coaches are needed.
- Checks in periodically with coaches to provide additional support (e.g. repertoire suggestions, performance opportunity questions, student attendance issues).
- Plans, coordinates, and hosts CMC masterclasses, other events (Chamber for the Pantry) and year-end CMC concerts.
- Provides details of all CMC activities to Hochstein staff and works closely with Dean Staff on enrollment oversight.
- Works with Hochstein staff and Director of Marketing and Communications to produce concert programs, applications, and promotional materials.
- Collaborates with Ensembles Coordinator, Assistant Director/Dean, and President/Executive Director to identify student performers for special events such as the Hochstein Gala, orchestra pre-concert programs, donor events, community concerts, etc.
- With Assistant Director/Dean, assists with the new faculty hiring and review process for chamber coaches.
- Assists summer chamber music camp directors with student recruitment.
- Continues to develop strong ties/contacts with teachers within the Hochstein community as well as the Rochester community-at-large.
