Senior vocalist Ashley Schlusselberg has won the second AMP Up Grant for her upcoming senior recital on April 19th.
Ashley won a $500 award to present a series of community engagement performances in the local Rochester area. Ashley’s goal is to engage the Jewish community in the Greater Rochester area by promoting her senior recital through performances and discussions. Ashley will connect with local synagogues, Jewish senior homes, and Jewish organizations to perform and share pieces from the upcoming recital. These performances will provide a preview of the recital program, creating excitement and building relationships with the community before the official performance. Ashley will also discuss the cultural context and personal significance of the music. This approach will not only introduce the community to her music but also create an interactive, engaging experience that fosters dialogue between the audience and performer.
