Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with Director of Development to set annual grant goals.
- Identify grant opportunities from private and government funders.
- Oversee cycle of grant applications ensuring accuracy, adherence with grant application due dates, organizational values alignment, and reporting/contract deliverables timelines.
- Compile and write grant documents, review budgets, edit application materials and submit on time as outlined in RFP documents.
- Write proposal narratives, including needs-case statements, project descriptions, program outcomes, etc.
- Serve as a liaison between Geva Theatre executive leadership and applicable stakeholders.
- Collaborate with finance and program departments for data and program description needs.
- Conduct prospect research for potential funders including state and federal. Research any Board of Trustees connections with foundation boards or government representatives and engage when beneficial.
- Expand Geva’s annual grant funding base to ensure organizational stability in a post-pandemic environment, as outlined in Geva’s newly adopted Strategic Framework.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel, and database management – Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Geva Theatre, a LORT B regional theatre in the heart of Rochester, NY with an annual operating budget of $8.5 million, seeks a dynamic and experienced Grants Manager to oversee all phases of the grant process.
This position reports to the Director of Development and serves as an integral member of the Development Team. The Grants Manager will research new grant funding opportunities including foundation, state and federal grants to support the programs and mission of Geva Theatre.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for achieving budgeted goals in all areas of contributed revenue including government, foundation and other special projects requiring grant support.
