Bio:

Ashley Danyew, Ph.D., is a musician, educator, writer, and entrepreneur. She writes a blog for church musicians and music educators and hosts the podcast, Field Notes on Music Teaching and Learning. Ashley has taught over 600 students through her online courses and maintains a private piano studio. In 2020, Ashley and her husband, Steve co-founded Musician and Co., a site dedicated to sharing tools, resources, and practical advice for self-employed musicians and music entrepreneurs. Ashley received a B.A. in Music from the University of Georgia and completed an M.M. and Ph.D. in Music Education at the Eastman School of Music. Her work has been published by Oxford University Press Choral Blog, NAfME, Colla Voce Music, and Growing in Grace. She is a featured artist in the book, The Savvy Music Teacher. Ashley lives in Rochester, NY with Steve and their lab-greyhound rescue, Rory. In her free time, she enjoys painting and working on old-house projects.
