With the help of a Special Opportunity Grant, Nadia Magalski attended the
Eastman Music Preservation Institute. In this class, she gained real-world experience of running a preservation department in a music library,
particularly how to repair items, digitize items, and maintain special
collections and closed stacks. Magalski says, “I gained insight into the care
required to maintain a large music collection and explored ways to make
these items accessible for long-term use, a perspective that often goes
overlooked in traditional preservation efforts.”
