The Cuban American Youth Orchestra has facilitated cultural exchanges between students and professionals for a decade between the United States and Cuba. It is a week-long program where American students are able to rehearse and perform side-by-side with Cuban students at the island’s performing arts high schools. This year, CAYO will be doing the same in Mexico in May. Woodwind teaching artists include Marisela Sager, Erin Hannigan, Michael Wayne, Elizabeth Freiburg, and Benjamin Kamins. Students may also have the opportunity to volunteer in humanitarian aid.
