The Performing Arts Medicine Association is the world’s leading medical organization for musicians and dancers, and consists of an international network of medical experts, educators, and administrators. The 44th annual PAMA International Symposium will bring together an audience of doctors, teachers, and performers from all around the world to discuss the latest research findings in the field of performing arts medicine. I have been invited to present my research on tuba-playing ergonomics at this conference. Presenting at PAMA 2026 represents the culmination of my work as an ALP intern at the University of Rochester Health Services and as a recipient of the IML Fall 2025 Mentorship Grant. As an intern, I am new to the field of performing arts medicine, and being invited to present at PAMA is my first opportunity for professional exposure in this field. As a longtime instrumental music performer who is now seeking professional experience in other fields, presenting at PAMA is the perfect opportunity for me to launch a new career in the field of performing arts medicine research.
