Tubist Addie Canning won a Special Opportunity Grant to attend the 2025
International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC), a five-day experience in
Hartford, Connecticut. She had the opportunity to attend both chamber and
solo concerts by world-renowned female artists, classes and lectures on a
variety of relevant topics, and brass ensemble reading lesions. In addition,
Canning got to meet each artist, network with other female brass players,
and make meaningful and career advancing connections. Canning says, “I had a great experience at IWBC! It was great to be surrounded by other
female brass players, catch up with old friends, and make new ones.”
