Applications are open for an Alto (or Mezzo Soprano) Section Leader at First Baptist Church of Rochester located at 175 Allens Creek Road. These positions start in early September 2026 and end in early May (annual renewable contract). First Rochester is a 9-minute drive from Eastman.
The pay per week is $100 for singing at a weekly 10:00 am Sunday service (with a 9:00 am rehearsal) and a Wednesday night 60-75 minute rehearsal, usually with just Section Leaders. This is a musically rewarding gig with ample opportunities for the Section Leaders (SATB) to sing as a quartet (SATB), as soloists, and with a variety of choirs and chamber instrument ensembles.
Some additional solo singing opportunities are available outside of the weekly school year and on holidays. Not to mention: this congregation is very supportive of the Section Leaders and appreciative of classical/opera music as well as other genres.
