Ash Mach: Timbre and Orchestration Summer School

IML Grant Winner

Doctoral student Ash Mach traveled to McGill University in Montreal to attend the Timbre and Orchestration Summer School (TOSS) and Timbre and Orchestration in Popular Song Conference. Music researchers from around the world gathered for workshops, analytical exercises, discussion, and presentations. “My time at TOSS was highly informative and productive. I learned new analytical tools, engaged with music that I would not have otherwise listened to, and networked with leading experts in music studies. I also got to present at the conference, which was a great way to receive feedback on my work.”
