Bio:

With a strong background in classical music and a great passion for cinema, Chinese composer Weijun Chen traverses between the world of film music and concert music. Recently, he won the inaugural Lei Cine Film Scoring Competition, and co-scored the Chinese blockbuster My Country, My Parents – Go Youth with Fei Peng. In addition, he has collaborated with many top game studios in China, including Tencent, NetEase, and ByteDance. Orchestration credits include Wish Dragon, Ghost of Tsushima, Leap, Greenland, and Angel Has Fallen. “Unafraid to linger in intense expression” (CVNC), “highly polished” (MusicalAmerica), and “reflected fine command of orchestration and form” (The Aspen Times), Weijun’s concert works have been performed by renowned orchestras and chamber ensembles across the United States and China. Weijun received his BM in composition (highest distinction) from the Eastman School of Music, and his PhD in composition from the University at Buffalo.
