Bio:

Malinda Wagstaff is a warmhearted first year graduate student at Indiana University where she studies with Carol Vaness. She achieved her bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Ruth Hennessy. In the spring of 2020, Malinda performed the role of Angel More in The Mother of Us All with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. She was awarded 1st place for her division in the Coeur d’Alene Symphony’s Young Artist Competition. Prior to their cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Malinda was scheduled to sing Beggar Woman in Eastman Opera Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd and the title role in Mediterranean Opera Studio Festival’s production of Suor Angelica. Malinda works as a teaching artist for “What is Opera Anyway?” which works to bring opera education to a variety of platforms. When not singing she enjoys cooking and meeting new dogs.
