Bio:

Lourdes (Lulú) Cossich earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education and vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. Subsequently, she earned a second master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, where she focused her studies in Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy. Ms. Cossich began her teaching career in independent schools, teaching Middle School and Lower School Music spanning grades Pre-K through eighth at Hope Partnership for Education and Westtown School. At Westtown, she began her work as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) practitioner and was co-chair of the three divisional Visual and Performing Arts Department, grades PreK – 12. Before joining the Chapin School, Ms. Cossich was the Assistant Director of Lower School at William Penn Charter, where she was instrumental in the creation of a new, structured After School Program that incorporated music and dance as part of the core programming. She has presented at national and international conferences and contributed to publications on issues of inclusivity in education and considerations for music education. Lulú is now the Associate Head of Lower School and Lower School Equity Coordinator at the Chapin School in New York City.
