Bio:

Chris Van Hof is the Associate Professor of Trombone at Ball State University. He also is the Principal Trombone of the Carmel (IN) Symphony Orchestra, the trombonist and arranger in the Emerald Brass Quintet and the Assistant Manager of the International Trombone Festival. As a freelance performer, Chris is fluent in a variety of musical vernaculars. His primary performance agenda centers around being a regular substitute/extra trombonist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Guest Principal Trombone with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, dozens of recording sessions for publishing and media companies in Indianapolis, and jazz/commercial performances throughout the region. Also conversant in Spanish, Chris is an international artist, having been on the faculty for trombone festivals and events in Argentina, Uruguay, and Panamá. He is endorsed by S.E. Shires Custom Brass Instruments as an official Performing Artist. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife Andrea and their two sons Dexter and Fritz.
