Bio:

Colombian-born pianist and educator, Christian Bigliani is currently a PhD student studying Music Teaching and Learning at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Before moving to Rochester, Christian was the Choral and Theatre director at DeSana Middle School in Alpharetta, GA where he was named “Teacher of The Year” for the 2018-2019 school year. While at DeSana, he and art teacher Angela Petit collaborated together and were awarded a grant through the Georgia Council of the Arts. With this grant, they organized the school’s first Cultural Arts Festival which celebrates its diverse student population. Christian’s research topics of interest include: diversity, equity, and inclusion through the lens of classroom management, and parallels between language and music learning.
