Quote: “Stepping out into the professional world with a music degree in hand can feel like diving off the edge of a cliff, not knowing where you may land, or if you’ll land at all. However, being a graduate of Eastman’s Arts Leadership Program meant that I always knew I had a bungee cord attached. The program and staff provided me with the training and confidence to go out and make a difference in the greater field of music. It also continued to–and continues to–provide professional support. In short, the IML is an office of people invested in your success. During my time at Eastman, I took fascinating classes and held internships that pushed me to consider all the ways I may impact the field. It was the ALP that helped me find my path towards music criticism. Even after graduating, Eastman’s IML continued to offer professional support in the form of professional training and resources, writing and publishing opportunities, and research grants. I attribute much of my professional success to the ALP and IML and feel supremely lucky that I can continue to utilize the resources they make available to all graduates.”
