Moritzburg Festival
Since 1993, the Mortizburg Festival, under the artistic direction of Jan Vogler, has hosted internationally renowned soloists and ensembles in a series of master concerts. The performances take place in the gorgeous Kronensaal (Crown Hall) in the Albrechtsberg Castle in Dresden – one of the most beautiful buildings of the late classical period – as well as in the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. Young, highly gifted artists are also often given the opportunity to perform in these concerts.
During the course of the twentieth season of “Master Concerts”, there will be a combined celebration of both the Concerts and the Moritzburg Festival, in anticipation of the festival´s twentieth anniversary in August 2013. Typical Moritzburg music programmes, designed by the festival founders themselves – Kai Vogler, Peter Bruns and Jan Vogler –, will be showcased in three anniversary concerts and will be performed by the founders alongside fellow festival players. You can also look forward to the exceptional young saxophonist Asya Fateyeva as well as the renowned pianist Mari Kodama.
