Bowdoin Music Festival
Founded in 1964 by Artistic Director Lewis Kaplan and the late Robert K. Beckwith, the Bowdoin International Music Festival comprises seven concert series, intensive summer study, and service to the Midcoast Maine community. The Festival takes place for six weeks each summer on the Bowdoin College campus and throughout the Brunswick, Maine area. It is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization, not a program of Bowdoin College.
The mission of the Bowdoin International Music Festival is to provide gifted young musicians from around the world with an opportunity to study with world-class artists, and to provide Maine audiences with classical music performed to the highest artistic standards.
