Composition Matters
It has been most interesting to read all my colleagues contributions. I do believe that there are many among us composers who want to contribute not only with great works, but also as positive forces of change. I also believe that there are many musicians, conductors and music administrators that want to give a chance to new works. Ultimately I am convinced that the most influential thing we can do as composers is to write works that by their sheer beauty and wonderful writing will seduce the players, the conductors and the audience. There are plenty of such instances in the bright horizon of American music today, and this gives me hope and a lot of optimism for the future.
