Choosing and Using Your Online Platform

Airigami Founder and Creative Director, Larry Moss is full of hot air and visionary ideas. He combines the two with balloons, and twists them into community-building art experiences. In his role with Airigami, Larry leads a team of artists who create large-scale installations, illustrations, and experiences entirely out of balloons — from small single sculptures to stadium-sized, record-breaking installations. Drawing on his background in entertainment, applied math, and education, and wearing an entirely different hat, Larry has founded Teaching Artists ROC — a nonprofit organization that focuses on connecting teaching artists with schools, libraries, rec centers, and senior centers to present creative STEAM programming.

Choosing and Using Your Online Platform

Sunday, September 20, 4-6PM

This two-part workshop provides an overview of different online platforms that artists can use to help address their specific needs. The first part will discuss how platforms can be used for an artist’s particular needs and goals. The second part will provide artists with an interactive learning experience to dive into platforms, as well as how to utilize physical materials (hard-drives, webcams, microphones, etc.) to maximize their online experience. This workshop will include a live Q&A so that participants can ask questions about the platforms they use and/or would like to learn more about.

Note: Workshop attendees have the ability to earn a professional development certificate by completing all workshops in Modules 1, 2, and 3 in this series. Workshop participation can be synchronous or asynchronous; live workshops will be recorded and shared on a closed link, viewable through March 1, 2021. For those that complete all workshops in this three-part series, electronic certificates will be emailed on November 10, 2020 and March 10, 2021.
