The ALP Interns

April 15, 2011

The Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Certificate Program is designed to prepare musicians for the challenges and opportunities of the music business awaiting them after graduation. To gain real world experience, ALP students participate in a year-long internship with one of several local arts organizations. Hear what these interns have to say about their work:

The Take-Away:

  • Try something new. You will never know where it will lead you or what you might learn from it.
  • Take ALP courses and do an internship, if you can. You will learn the how to promote yourself, organize events, stick to a budget, communicate effectively, and many other necessary skills that will set you apart in the music business.
  • Always act professionally. You may never know who is watching or where any assignment may take you.
