Spotlight on Innovation: Improv-A-Day

Would you consider your use of social media to be innovative? Creative? Do you think there is an opportunity to use social media in innovative ways that might help give your work extra exposure or lead to new opportunities? I think so!  Take a look at ImprovAday on Instagram – percussionist Maria Finkelmeier came up with this concept of posting a 15 second improvisation each day – using a wide variety of mostly non-traditional and some standard instruments to inspire her viewers. What a creative way to use social media! If you view some of the Instragram videos, you will see that many have comments. So, the project is connecting with people, it is engaging them, getting people’s attention in a unique way. It’s cutting through all the noise on social media. And each video has a story behind it! They are fun, and whimsical, and interesting. So, how can you do something innovative like this with your social media?
