Recommended: Philip Glass on His Career and Life

A few years ago I attended a talk by Philip Glass and I remember him speaking about the difficulties of breaking into the music business as a young musician.  He said that it’s like showing up to a dinner party and all the seats are full. What do you do?  His answer: build your own table.

I’ll never forget that. That is true creative thinking right there, and it really blew my mind.
