5 New Grant Proposals Awarded Funding

The grant committee received a wealth of excellent proposals for innovative projects and research surrounding the topic of innovative ensembles. Here are the projects that have been awarded funding in the fall 2019 grant cycle:

Innovative Project | “Cycles of Creation and Annihilation” – a collaboration between Burning River Baroque and the Blue Streak Ensemble focusing on environmental reform and climate change
David Kjar and Allegra Montanari – Chicago, IL
Research | Empowering the Portfolio Musician: Innovative Chamber Music Pedagogy for a 21st-century Artist
Incantare – Rochester, NY
Innovative Project | EXILE – a series of concerts by the ensemble Incantare that trace the paths of populations forced into diaspora during the Renaissance and early Baroque periods
John Pippen – Fort Collins, CO
Research | Survey of Innovative Ensemble Members in Chicago
