Join Polyphonic.org for a live interview and discussion with Nancy Christensen, Founder and President of Christensen Arts, LLC, an artist management firm based in New York City.  As a musician, what should you know about artist management? When does it make sense to consider management, what are the benefits, and how does one go about starting the process?  We will get Nancy’s expert thoughts on these questions.  We will also talk with Nancy about her career path, how she developed her career in artist management, and what advice she has for aspiring artist managers.  Join us for this live event, which will include a Q&A with Nancy at the end of the session.

Nancy Christensen is the Founder and President of Christensen Arts, LLC – a management company comprised of innovative and vibrant artists committed to advancing and enhancing specific programmatic and career goals. Ms. Christensen also holds the position of Program Director for William Paterson University’s “Music After School” program as part of the University’s music education department.
 
Christensen’s prior work experience has included booking classical music and dance with Diane Saldick, LLC and MCM Arts & Entertainment. In the late 1990s, Ms. Christensen held the position of Education Director at Chamber Music America where she created and implemented the Education and Residency Institute for chamber ensembles and presenters and administered the NEA/Chamber Music America Rural Residencies Program.
Nancy Christensen holds a B.M. in piano performance and a M.A. in music theory both from the Eastman School of Music.  Following graduation, Ms. Christensen was employed as part of Carnegie Hall’s programming team as well as the educational organization, Midori & Friends where she was Acting Director/Program Director.
Christensen is currently serving a second term on the Western Arts Alliance’s Board of Directors.
