About this event:
Pianist Heather O’Donnell was an active performer from 1995 to 2010. Due to a series of injuries and health issues, she shifted her attention away from performance to teaching and working on issues related to musicians’ injuries and blockages. She has lectured at the Performing Arts Medical Association International Symposium at Weill Medical Center in New York City, the World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Rheinsburg, Germany. She was a guest lecturer at IARTS school in Hangzhou, China, New England Conservatory, and the Ostrava Days Festival, and was a jury member at the Concours international de piano d’Orléans. She’s given workshops and lectures at a number of conservatories and universities, including Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music, Cornell University, the Hochschule für Musik Mannheim, and Rhodes University in South Africa. She currently teaches in the Humanities Department at Eastman School of Music.
