About this event:
Whether you’re negotiating for a first job, a new job, or an earned raise or promotion, join fellow University of Rochester alumni, students, graduate students, and parents for an interactive, two-hour workshop, led by alumna and faculty member Rachel Roberts ‘03E.
When you sign up, you will have the option to choose the workshop that best fits where you are in your professional development: Start Smart (designed for undergraduate students and graduate students with limited work experience) or Work Smart (designed for graduate students who have held at least one professional position, alumni, and parents). In both of these sessions, you will gain confidence in your negotiation style and learn how to:
- Identify and articulate your personal value
- Develop an arsenal of persuasive responses and other negotiation strategies
- Conduct objective market research to benchmark a target salary and benefits
Following your workshop, meet and connect with attendees from both sessions over appetizers and beverages at a combined networking reception. Admission is $10 per person and includes all workshop materials, which will be distributed at check-in. We are pleased to offer $5 admission to undergraduate and graduate students.
Advance registration is required.
This event is presented in partnership between the Office of Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement, Eastman School of Music, Simon Business School, the Susan B. Anthony Center, and the Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education and Connections, and offers licensed AAUW workshops.
