About this event:
Roomful of Teeth is a GRAMMY-winning vocal project dedicated to reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice. Lauded by the New York Times for their “high energy blend of stylistic influences” and called “genre-bending” by Boston Classical Review, Roomful of Teeth performs music by “some of the most exciting composers of the 21st century” (NPR), including their very own Pulitzer Prize winning member, Caroline Shaw. The eight-voice ensemble continually expands its vocabulary of singing techniques and, through an ongoing commissioning process, forges a new repertoire without borders. Eastman students, faculty, and staff are invited to learn more about the approach leading to their rapid success since being founded in 2009, their incorporation of diverse musical cultures and styles, as well as what it takes to sustain an innovative internationally touring professional ensemble.
