Told through a transdisciplinary, multimedia performance that infuses music, still and moving pictures, and a Pratt-authored and delivered narration, Awadagin Pratt: Black in America examines racism and social injustice in America by chronicling Pratt’s life from the time he was a music student in Baltimore, MD through his ascent to international acclaim through graphic accounts of police stops for “Driving While Black.”

Following this lecture, all attendees are invited to participate in moderated breakout discussions in various spaces on the Eastman campus themed around “Change Leadership.”
