COVID-19 Resources
In light of recent events, many musicians performances, gigs, and employment opportunities have been cancelled or moved to online platforms. With this in mind, we wanted to provide some additional resources to support musicians during this time.
Music Specific
- U.S. Gig Economy Relief Package – Approved – On March 27, 2020 the U.S. passed a legislation to provide a relief package to those who are freelancers. This site will summarize the package offerings.
- Uncertain Times: Resources for Musicians – Developed by the Paul R. Judy Center, this list includes some foundations and relief fund recommendations.
- Arts Education – Online Workshops & Conversations – The National Guild for Community Arts Education is hosting a series of workshops, conversations, and programming around human-centered approaches in crisis, transitioning art programing, & organization check-ins.
- Links to Key U.S. Resources for Performing Artists – Developed by the Manhattan School of Music, this page pulls together funding sources, general resources, advocacy, and additional recommendations.
- Which Unemployment Benefits Do You Apply For? – Developed by the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), this provides a chart guide and resources on which benefits are applicable to you.
- State-by-State Resource Guide for Musicians – This updating article first highlights overall resources, but then specifies opportunities and assistant in particular states around supporting musicians during COVID-19.
- Festival Updates – Musical America’s Festival Guide has updates on cancellations and alterations of 2020 festivals.
- ESM Student Guide to Home Recording & Video Conferencing
- Who is Hiring During Coronavirus? – An article highlighting job availabilities in various industries to help support those looking for employment.
- Handshake Remote Positions – Handshake has handful of remote positions available in various industries for current students.
